2015 Opening Day Breakfast and Meeting

It was gloomy and cold outside with no golf in the forecast for today but 50 White Oak Ladies Golf Association members enjoyed a warm tasty breakfast prepared by the dining staff.  Lisa Jones gave  the invocation and Margaret Lauer, president brought the meeting to order.  It was announced that Shirley Payne and her husband, Herb, would soon be moving back to her home in Louisiana.  She was presented a card with warm wishes on her move.  Shirley spoke briefly about her wonderful experience playing and getting to know the ladies of White Oak.  She will be sorely missed.

  •        One of our newest members, Janet Messer,  passed away suddenly several days ago and Ruth Routsong had a bulletin from her funeral service.
  • Margaret discussed the handbook and that it is now on the blog along with the 2015 Playday schedule, by-laws, constitution, and rules and regulations of our Wolga league.  Directory was given out with phone numbers and email addresses.  They will be stored in the locker for those not present today.
  •    Janis spoke regarding tournaments this year and is looking for an assistant to help out.  If you are interested in helping just let her know.
  •       This year you will receive an adorable Chip In towel for your first chip in.
  •       Flat Creek ladies who are ONE members will need to call in to the 1-800-433-5079 Club Corp line prior to playday to get credit for their two free rounds per month.
  • We will continue to have free 30 minute lesson drawing each week.  We will get 20% off apparel in the pro shop on play day.
  • Sean Renaud, our pro, answered some golf rules that were put in the box Ruth Routsong brought today.  Any time you have a question regarding play just write it down on the index cards provided and he will answer a few each week.
  • We had 3 new members present.  They are Carol Hamilton, Melissa Orme, and Judy Powell.  Welcome ladies!!!
Stay tuned for a reminder for next week's play day.  Pray for good weather!

Finally, here are a few pictures some of our members shared at warmer, greener locations.

Janis and Bob Turner at Tiburon Golf Club in Florida which is one of the Club Corp courses.

Lisa and Roy Jones at Gainey Ranch Golf Course in Arizona.  Also a Club Corp course I believe.
