Thanks from Beth Blevins

Here are some words Beth passed on to Susan Gillespie that need to be shared to our group.  Many of you participated in the tournament.  Marilyn Miller has been a part of many benefit functions and said it was the most fun she'd ever had.

Quote from Beth Blevins...
"Words can not express how blessed I feel. Yesterday's surprise at the Pink Truck Tournament was amazing!!! To everyone who played, donated, and assisted, I want to say thank you!!! I still am not real sure how everyone kept it a secret from me though. 2013 has thrown me some ugly curveballs but yesterday showed me I have alot of wonderful people in my corner!! And that this ovarian cancer has nothing on us! Thank you again"

Keep the prayers coming ladies!!!

Winners of Pink Truck Tournament

We were so excited and moved by the outpouring of love and generosity we forgot to post the winners.
Congrats to Ellen Connors, Salme Svensson, Barb Nadreau and Carol Wells!!!

2013 Pink Truck Tournament

It was a wonderful day on the golf course and a great cause.   We had nearly 100 people play, bartend, register, poker deal, etc. and a golf cart load of cash was raised for Beth Blevins as she is battling ovarian cancer.  Well over $6,000 was presented to our beloved and very much surprised Beth after the tournament.  Special thanks to Susan Gillespie and Mary Morgan as they organized the tournament and  had some wild and crazy formats throughout the day.  Thanks to all who made donations and sponsored holes.
Enjoy the pictures from today...

Pink Truck Tournament

Ladies, it's time for the Pink Truck Tournament!
It will be November 13th with a 10:30 shotgun start.

Cost will be $40 per person (cash please) this includes your Golf, Cart, Range Balls and Donation to "the cause". Summer Grove members will pay what ever your normal cost is to play plus a $15 donation.
Contact Susan Gillespie regarding sign ups and more information.  (Beth copy and pasted the email she sent to the group.)
If you need more info on 'The Cause' please send me a private message.

Format will be best ball of foursome. We will have prizes, some give-aways, and door prizes.

If you have a team already please send me the names as soon as possible.

If you want to play and do not have a team, Mary and I will pair you with a group.

The purpose of this tournament is to raise money for 'the Cause' and to have lots of fun.

There will be high spirited refreshments on many of the holes, along with side bets and games to play to raise more money.

If you are interested in sponsoring a hole please let me know what you are providing and which hole. Please note that this year the $15 fee is NOT waived even if you are sponsoring a hole. Please consider having some sort of side bet or game at your sponsored area that will raise more money along with a PINK decorated tip jar. Your sponsored can also be mobile if you want to travel the course in a cart.

If you cannot play golf or don't want to play golf please considering sponsoring a hole or manning/womanning an already sponsored hole.  Of course you can make a donation to the 'cause'.

You might want to consider having your sponsor or significant other drop you at the course, as there will be consumption of alcohol on the course. We will have a couple of shuttles to take you back to WO area and those in Summer Grove can walk home. Those coming from other areas might want to car pool.
