May 29th- Pro Picks 9

Thirty three ladies traveled to Flat Creek today. Here are the results:

50/50 was won by Kathy Mallon
Janis Randolph won the free lesson

Lynda Young had the only Chip in.

Linda Brown broke 100 for the first time during a play day. Congrats!
(Ladies, make sure you tell me when you have a breakthrough round such as breaking 90, 80 or have eagle). We want to share the news with the group. You also get honored at the end of the year.

First place- There was a tie with a score of 27.5 between Joan Land and Pat Van Gelder. Tie was broken after looking at the two third hardest hole. Joan came out on top.

Second place- Pat Van Gelder

Third place had another tie between Carol McMeekin and Patti Wall with a 28.5. Carol scored lower on the most difficult hole.

Next week is our handicap tournament. No play day next week. I have not received the course assignments for the rest of the month but will let you know ASAP.

One more note. Linda Brown will have the scores from today posted before the 1st of June.

Flat Creek

We WILL be at Flat Creek this week, the 29th of May.
The format is scheduled to be Pro Picks Nine.
Remember we are starting 30 minutes which means check in 9:00 and shotgun at 9:30.
We will have sign ups for Handicap Tournament which is June 4 and 5.

May 22-Cat Fight on the Old Course

It's a busy time of year but 21 ladies participated in the second Cat Fight of the Year.

We had a tie for 3rd place between Ellen Connors and Diane Mason with +4 but on #9 Diane had a 5 and Ellen had 6.

Next week we are scheduled for a Flat Creek but the GSGA Women's Match Play only have 24 participants. I am going to talk to Sean Renaud to see if we can be at White Oak as their last tee time is at 8:40am. Cross your fingers.

WE ARE BEGINNING 30 MINUTES EARLIER STARTING NEXT WEEK. THIS MEANS CHECK IN AT 9:00 AND SHOTGUN AT 9:30.

One more thing... We had great representation at the GSWGA tournament in Savannah with many ladies placing in their event. Check out the GSWGA website in the next few days to see the results..

Play day Rainout

Unfortunately it was too wet and misty for the 4 ladies who showed up today.

Ardy and her doctors are waiting for the swelling to go down before she has surgery on her foot.

She did manage to send an email out with the results of West Georgia.

Good luck to the several members who will be playing in the GSWGA tournament in Savannah next week. Janis Turner and her fellow board members conduct a fabulous tournament and the weather is looking perfect..
Also good luck to our members who will be competing in the GSGA senior women's match play which is also being held next week at Sunset Hills CC in Carrollton.

We will be back at White Oak (old course) next week, the 22nd. We may go ahead and do the Catfight that was scheduled for this week. See you all soon!

Ardy Durden

Ladies please keep one of own, Ardy Durden, in your prayers. She broke her ankle at the West Georgia Golf League tournament held at the Newnan Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. We will pass on updates regarding her condition as we get them. Ardy is one tough lady and loves her golf. Let's hope she heals as quickly as possible.

Remember our league plays at Flat Creek this Thursday with check in at 9:30 and shotgun at 10:00. Be on weather watch as their is some rain coming through but maybe it'll be gone by Thursday morning.
