Halloween/Last Playday of 2013

Today was our Cat Fight with 39 ladies participating in the golf and the Halloween Dressing Up.  Janis, Susan G., Margaret L. and Lisa dressed as "Witch Doctors".  They gave out prescriptions, shots of a red mixture...(someone said it was a Sangria), gave pills of candy, etc.  They were sooo cute! 

Here are the results of today:
1st place- Charlotte Myczkowski with a +7
2nd place- there was a tie for 2nd between Susan Gillespie and Kathy Fisher  with a +5 but Susan won with a bogey on #9 and Kathy had a triple.

Happy Halloween

Boo-Hoo, it's our last week of the Wolga season so let's have a big crowd!  We will be on Old Course and the format will be "Black Catfight"  to go along with Halloween.  I heard there will be some people in costume. If you and others are dressed in a theme you will be able to play together. 
Points will be:

Eerie Eagle                      5
Batty Birdie                     4
Perilous Par                     3
Bloody Bogey                  2
Devilish Double Bogey    1

Points needed calculation:
Subtract your handicap from 54
Example: If your course handicap is 14, 54-14= 40
Points needed to be pulled 40

There might be some treats after play so stick around. 
Also, many of you have brought bags of candy for the November 1st Fall Festival and the White Oak staff thank you.  It's still not too late to bring in your bag. 

Finally, don't forget November 13 is the 'Pink Truck Tournament'.  We have a worthy 'Cause' to give the donations to.  The format will be 4 person team Best Ball.  Your cash $40 entry fee will cover green fees, cart, and donation to the 'cause'.  We will have prizes, some give-aways, and door prizes.

If you have a team already please send Susan Gillespie the names as soon as possible.

If you want to play and do not have a team, Mary and Susan will pair you with a group. 

The purpose of this tournament is to raise money for 'the Cause' and to have lots of fun.

There will be high spirited refreshments on many of the holes, along with side bets and games to play to raise more money.

We had 27 ladies participate today in "Throw Out the Worst 3 Holes"  and here are the results.

1st Place- Brenda Dumas with a 58
2nd Place-Ardy Durden with a 60.5


There was a tie for 3rd between Arleen Carleo and Patti Wall with a 61.  The tie was broken at the 2nd most difficult hole, Number 18, where Patti recorded a par and Arleen had a double bogey.

Believe it or not, there were no birdies today so the birdie money will carry over to the next week, our last playday. 
We had 3 chip ins.

Next week is our last organized playday for the season and it will be a Halloween "Black Cat Fight".

There is a group working on our annual "Pink Truck Tournament".  Dates are being finalized and it looks like it will be either November 11 or 13th at Summergrove.  Mike Haddick is working on our cost and it was discussed that we will add a little to the green fees/cart fee to contribute to a very worthy individual  who is battling cancer. 
Details regarding this fun and worthwhile event will be coming soon.
