Let's Be Careful

Summertime weather is here and we need to take extra care of ourselves.  In the past month I have heard of at least 3 ladies having heat related issues on the course.
Here are some tips to prevent heat related ailments.
1. Keep hydrated before, during, and after your round.  This is of utmost importance.
2. Sunscreen applied frequently...If you like to walk, make sure you have your umbrella with you... it makes great shade, and don't forget your sunglasses.
3.Wear cool, breathable, light colored clothing
4.Bring down skin temperature and cool your pulse points: your neck, wrist, temples, behind the knees and inside the elbows
(many of the ladies wet or freeze a hand towel and bring it in your cooler with ice)  It is soooo refreshing.
5. Avoid playing during the hottest time of the day.  That means "pick up your pace of play".

If you have other tips for enduring the summertime heat please share....   (there is a place at the bottom of this post where you can make comments)
