Sarah Connors Wins Most Improved at Canongate

Sarah Connors, whose home course is Canongate I wins GSGA Most Improved Women's Golfer based on her stats for 2014.  

We are so proud of her and this accomplishment!  

Congrats to Susan Clonts as she received The Most Improved Women's Golfer at Canongate on White Oak from the Georgia State Golf Association for the 2014 season.

Janis Turner will be doing a Gingerbread Boy decorating demo at Michael's this Saturday afternoon, Dec. 6th,  from 1-4.  Buy a gingerbread boy kit at the store and join her to decorate your own cookie at no charge! Learn Wilton method basic decorating skills and have fun too!! Bring your grandchildren.

Janis will also be doing a class in building a Gingerbread House on Saturday, December 13 from 1-4.  Cost is $20.00 plus the cost of the gingerbread house.  Michaels will be having it on sale.  Please sign up in the store and join Janis for some decorating fun!!!

Finally, see you all December 11 at White Oak for our annual Christmas Breakfast at 8:00am.  

Christmas Sale in Pro Shop

Saturday, December 6, is White Oak's annual sale in the pro shop.  There will be a discount wheel you can spin to receive extra savings on your purchases.  

This is a great opportunity to spend the Pro Shop credit you received throughout our 8 months of playing in 2014. 

Sale will be from 7am to 7pm.  

Our Christmas Awards breakfast will be on December 11th at 8:30am.  Breakfast will be paid for by some of the proceeds of 50/50 and mulligans from this season.  Come enjoy the food and fellowship.

Christine Beauchamp's Eagle

 Congratulations to Christine on her recent eagle on Flat Creek Old Mill #2!  She was 87 yards out on the par 4.  

 Cold weather doesn't keep our ladies off the golf course.  Lisa, Janis and their group stayed warm with their fleece and Fireball. 

Final West Georgia Turkey Tournament at Maple Ridge

The West Georgia Golf League came to a close on Tuesday with several ladies from our group participating including the two turkeys pictured above.
Here are the results:
1st flight- Margaret Choi- 4th place
2nd flight-Mary Carlson-3rd place
3rd flight-Pat Gray-2nd place, Patti Wall-4th place
4th flight-Diane Tschantz-1st flight, Irene Drage-3rd place, and Ardy Durden-4th place

Ardy Durden should be commended as she does a fabulous job as our West Georgia League representative.

The date has been set for our final meeting/awards brunch of the year.  Mark Thursday, December 11, on your calendar and get your holiday outfits picked out.  This is always a festive occasion to celebrate a fantastic season and visit with our golf buddies one more time in 2014.

2014 White Oak Club Championship

First of all, kudos to those 5 brave souls who weathered the cold, windy, weekend of the Championship.  High Saturday scores were reflected with Margaret taking the lead with a gross 89.   Lisa Jones and Ellen Connors trailed just behind tied for 91.  Sandra Lancaster had a pretty good day with a 98 and Hesper Hall with a 112.  (Leaderboard picture is included)

Day two playing conditions were slightly better to begin with but wind was still prevalent.  Ellen Connors pulled out a 79 for the day and a combined score of 170. Ellen is White Oak's new Club Champion.   Margaret shot an 84 for a combined 173 and won low net.

Once again, the ladies who competed in the undesirable conditions should be commended.

It was a fun last official play day!  33 ladies came out with and without their Halloween attire.  We only had one lady get + points and that was Margaret Choi.

Three ladies tied with EVEN score but the ties were broken in the #9 hole of regression.

1st place- Margaret Choi +2

2nd place - There was a tie between Ardy Durden, Diane Tschantz, and Arleen Carleo with an EVEN score.  Ardy won 2nd place on #9 hole.  Ardy had a 6, Diane had a 7 and Arleen had an 8.
