The first opening breakfast of the newly merged White Oak and Canongate ladies golf association
was held at Canongate. Mary Louise welcomed all, and members socialized prior to breakfast.

Mary Louise called meeting to order and recognized 2026 Board/Officers. Announced 46 members in
2026 and recognized years of service of all.

No report of previous minutes since today’s meeting was first combined meeting of
merged White Oak/Canongate leagues (WOCLGA).

Using WOLGA checking account; Karen advised budget; and discussed new
Hole-In-One account.
New combined HIO account started 2026 for WOCLGA. Initial fee $2; thereafter $5 per year.
Must make HIO on play date.

Mary Louise reminded members to submit play day pictures and check blog for
tournament opportunities, weekly play day results, meeting minutes, and play date
schedules for West GA and Mid GA. Mary Louise will re-email blog link to all members.

Committee Reports
Tournaments – Hesper Hall (not in attendance)
WOCLGA will host 3 tournaments in 2026: Ryder Cup, Handicap and Championship.
Dates will be posted on Blog and bulletin board in ladies’ locker rooms, and information
will also be emailed to members.
Sunshine – Becky Cochran
Becky reminded members to let her know about illnesses and health updates to share
with all.
West GA - Lisa Jones spoke on courses to be played in 2026. Cost to join is $15.
Play dates and results for 2026 are posted on Blog and emailed to membership.
First 2026 play date is March 11 at Green Island in Columbus, GA.
Mid GA -- Mary Mitchell spoke on 2026 membership with 22 members to date.
Cost to join is $11 ($10 for annual fee and $1 for HIO club). Play dates and results for 2026 will
be posted on Blog and emailed to membership. First 2026 play date is March 26 at Hickory Hill
in Jackson, GA.
GSWGA – Susan Clonts reminded members that she and Cricket were Board
members for GSWGA (Georgia Senior Womens Golf Association). Advised that GSWGA
hosts two tournaments/year. The last week of April 2026, their spring tournament will be
held
at Eagles Landing and Crystal Lake, and registration is open. The fall tournament,
which will be a two-person team event, will be held at Big Canoe and Crystal Falls.
For the fall tournament, depending on numbers signed up to play, WOCLGA members will
reserve VBRO accommodations and carpool to tournament. To date, 200 members
have joined in 2026.
Susan Clonts also mentioned the GWGA (Georgia Womens Golf Association) and their
tournament options in 2026. Jekyll Island will host one of their tournaments this year.
Ways & Means – Denise Willoughby
Denise advised she has planned 3 fund raisers for 2026.
-- Men and women slightly used golf clothing and golf items sale. Beth and Jennifer will
coordinate sale; date TBD and will be posted on blog and communicated via email.

Play Days – Cricket Crenshaw
Cricket will organize play days at both Canongate (Tuesdays) and White Oak (Thursdays).
Cricket asked everyone to rsvp for play days in a timely manner and read the sign up emails
whether or not you’re planning to play on a specific play date. She reminded everyone to be on
time for play day check ins between 8:15-9:00a and gather at 9:15a for play day
announcements. Most play days, the game will be a Cat Fight, but some games may be
planned throughout the year. Also players are encouraged to read and be familiar with the
Play Day and Tournament Handbook which is located at the end of the Constitution and
Bylaws.
Sandi Kirkpatrick asked to discuss Cat Fight points game and suggested points be same
as Mid and West GA’s Cat Fight. Members discussed but no decision was made.

Old Business
Champion Plaques – Margaret Lauer advised that tournament award plaques were being
engraved. With newly merged ladies’ organization, motion was made, seconded and
approved to buy tournament plaques for both Canongate and White Oak ladies’ locker rooms.
Donations to Coweta County High Schools
$300 to Northgate for travel and tournament expenses
5 golf bags to Newnan HS
Will focus our donations in 2026 on Northgate and East Coweta
New Business
Ratify WOCLGA Bylaws – Janis motioned to accept new Constitution and Bylaws; seconded
by Cathy Cook and approved.

Mary Louise thanked Merger Committee and new Board. She will send out updated WOCLGA
roster, ratified Constitution and Bylaws, and link to Blog.
Meeting was adjourned and those members interested enjoyed a game golf.

WOCLGA New Board Meeting January 18, 2026
Board met at Mary Louise’s home for meeting and pot luck dinner.

Mary Louise called meeting to order.
Board discussed budget, officially closing WOLGA and CLGA. Hesper will close CLGA checking
account and transfer monies to WOLGA.
Discussed Honorary Members and removed Evelyn Smith from list due to recent death.
Ardy Durden, Susan Gillespie, Lanelle Heminger, Barbara Nadreau, Bobbie Wilson,
Marilyn Miller, Louise Cox, Norma Martin
Discussed award plaques. The WOLGA tournament trophy is full. Recommended to purchase new
WOCLGA trophies (one Handicap, one Championship), and keep one trophy at Canongate and one
at White Oak.
Discussed donor plaques for Weldon Financial (Margaret Lauer WOLGA contact) and McKoons
Funeral Home (Bev Martin WOLGA contact). Plaques are in process of being made and Board
agreed to invite a representative from each to Opening Day breakfast to present plaques and thank
them for their long-term sponsorship.
Mary Louise updated Board on 2026 WOCLGA donations to East Coweta girls’ high school golf
teams.
We donated $310 to Northgate HS for their tournament and travel expenses this year and 5 new golf
bags to Newnan HS. WOCLGA Blog has been updated with the “thank yous” from these coaches.
Opening Day breakfast will be at Canongate on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Board reviewed and discussed changes to the Constitution, Bylaws and Player Handbook for the
White Oak/Canongate Ladies Golf Association (WOCLGA). Mary Louise updated this document, sent
to Board for review, and forwarded to membership to review prior to Opening Day breakfast, where
discussion and voting will take place.
Board agreed to merge Hole-In-One funds. Recommended that each member pay annually $2 at
beginning of season 2026; then pay $5 each year thereafter. Must win HIO during a WOCLGA play
date or tournament. This change was included in updated Bylaws that were sent to membership for
review.
Hesper is working on tournament dates for 2026, coordinating dates around GSWGA, GWGA, Mid
Georgia and West Georgia tournament dates. 2026 WOCLGA tournament dates will be announced at
Opening Day breakfast.
Denise shared ideas for the Ways and Means Committee to raise money for WOCLGA.
