Results of August 1, 2013 Best 9

1st place- Joan Land with a 31.5
2nd place-Charlotte Mycz with a 33
3rd place-Margaret Lauer tied with Sandi Kirkpatrick with a 35 but Margaret broke tie on #7 Seminole the most difficult hole on the course with a bogie.

Don't forget to email Beth at pbshepard@charter.net to sign up for the Solheim Cup/White Oak style.  We already have 10 signed up.  It'll be a fun day but there will be no posting of scores and no birdie or chip in sheets for the format planned. 

August 8, 2013- Solheim Cup White Oak Style

Our format will be a little different than usual. 

• You will need to let us know if you are going to play via email.  Since I send this via mass email you can just reply to me that you are planning on playing.
• You will be paired ahead of time.  We will put a A or B player with a C or D player so our combined indexes will be as close as possible.  (Flighting may be an option when we see how many sign up)
• If you choose not to play in this format but want to play, you are welcomed to and will get your point for participation but will not be in contention. 
• Holes 1-6 will be Alternate Shot. 
• Holes 7-12 will be Best Ball.
• Holes 13-18 will be 2 man Scramble
• Cards and Signs at holes will be color coded.  You will need to pay attention to what hole you are on and make sure you are following the correct format. 
• Of course you may wear your Red/White/Blue outfits to celebrate this great country of ours. 
• Please remind your buddies to check their emails and blog so they will know they have to be signed up to participate in the Solheim Cup before next Thursday morning.  Deadline is Wednesday, August 7th at 6:00pm.  Anyone who signs up later than that will just be playing for participation points.

Best 9 Holes- August 1st

August 3rd is "National Watermelon Day".   We will celebrate it a few days early this Thursday.  Linda Brown will have a special treat for us after  playday. 

We will also discuss our upcoming Solheim Cup competition. 

See you this Thursday, August 1st, as our format will be Best 9  Holes. 



Is the Solheim Cup coming to White Oak?



You betcha!!!

The 2013 Solheim Cup is beginning August 12, and our ladies golf association is going  to be a part of it.  In our handbook August 8 is scheduled to be another low gross/low net.  We are going to scrap that.  Lisa, the pros and I have not worked out the details yet but we will instead celebrate the Solheim Cup in our own special way. 

We will send out the particulars soon but it will be a blast!!!

Mark your calendars cause you are not going to want to miss it!

July 25th, Low Gross, Low Net

First of all, thanks Lisa for having the Wolga ladies over for a swim after playday.  (Hope someone was able to take some pictures for our yearbook of the bathing beauties or is it golfing beauties?) 

Here are the results of today. Remember the format was low gross for 19 and  under course handicaps and low net for 20 and above.
(Still a few errors but scorecards were SOOOOO much neater.)

We had a tie for 1st in Low Gross.  Tie was broken at #1 Handicap hole #9.

It was a great day on the course with some super scores, lots of birdies, and fun play.

Of course there was a tie for first and after looking at the #1 handicap hole # 7 it goes like this:



1st place- Shirley Hasty and Bev Martin with a 57, they had a net 3 on #7

2nd place- Janis Turner and Judy Furlong with a 57, they had a net 4 on #7

3rd place- Cheryl Drewyer and Joan Land with a 58



Next week July 25 is Low Gross/Low Net and I believe it is Old Course.
