Opening Day 2020

Well another rainy start to another season.  Our fun game was rained out for opening day, but we hope to reschedule it for April.

We had our first business meeting and breakfast with 38 in attendance. Welcome new members:

The members present voted unanimously to amend the by-laws of WOLGA to add the position of Corresponding Secretary to the board.

Diane Tschantz was elected to fill the newly created board position and will serve one year.

The GHIN system will now be using the World Handicap System, and therefore the ESC method has changed.  When posting your scores outside the WOLGA play day group it is best to use the hole by hole entry system in order to calculate the ESC for your scores.  If you have questions you may ask the pro-shop or Lisa Jones for assistance.

Finally Photos from Road Trip

Last October Susan Gillespie, Karen Cearley, and Janis Turner went to the Delta Womens Golf Tournament at Hammock Beach Florida.  Today they finally got the pictures uploaded for us to view.

Karen was the overall Champion of the Employee division and Janis Turner was the overall Champion for the guest division.  Susan tied for winner of her flight.  Susan's sister June also won longest drive.

New Officers Elected

Our new officers were elected and sworn-in at the end of year business meeting.  The following officers will serve for the 2020 term.

President - Susan Gillespie
Vice-President - Lisa Jones
Treasurer - Karen Cearley
Secretary - Bev Martin

Past president, Janis Turner conducted the election and acceptance process in Marilyn Lynn absence.  Janis will also still serve on the board in the past president position.

Diane Tschantz will continue as our communications director and Jennifer Pierson will continue as our Sunshine Committee Chair.

Lisa Jones will continue as the Tournament Committee chair and Karen Thrall will help to organize our play day committee volunteers.  Look for an email during February from Karen about volunteering.

Susan Gillespie will continue as the stats guru and Golf Genius contact.

2019 Season Awards and Christmas Party

Vice President, Lisa Jones, presented Sean and Scott with gift cards for their assistance through out the season.

WOLGA raised $805 for the Pink Posse, and Janis Turner presented Alice Ramsey with the proceeds.

What an absolutely beautiful day for gold.  My kind of weather.  This was our last official day on the Old Course and the last chance to improve your Old Course ringer score.  So I hope you all made some good plays on those holes.  Great day to have the only chip in at $15 way to go Beth Shepard.
