Last Playday

We will NOT have a playday on October 27 due to a scheduling conflict with the club. We WILL instead finish up our season the following week, November 3. Janis has a putt putt course and fun final playday format scheduled. Please note the change in time for November 3rd.

CHECK IN NO LATER THAN 9:00!

Michelle, restaurant manager, will have some drink and food specials so stick around and reminisce about our fun 2016 season!

***Bev Morris reported that Hesper Hall had her surgery and it ended up being three tendons repaired instead of two. Let's all pray for a successful recovery and hope to see her back in the swing of things by next season.

October 20- Low Gross/Low Net

We had 21 ladies play Low Gross/Low Net today on Old Course. The weather was warm and wonderful, and a good time was had by all! We were glad to see Janis and Bob are back in town and Janis thanked the group for all their kind words and prayers throughout the last 3 weeks. Bob even had breakfast with his buddies at the club.
Results:
1st place Low Gross-Beth Shepard-82 Low Net-Lisa Yoon-65
2nd place Low Gross-Salme Svensson-87 Low Net-Susan Gillespie-67
Arleen Carleo also had 67 but
Susan won in regression

Hesper Hall won the big carry over Chip In money with the only chip in this week.

SuOk Swafford won a birdie towel from last week's birdie...Congrats!

Let's all say an extra prayer for Hesper, Arleen, and Brenda as they will undergo surgeries in the next few weeks. We will keep you updated on their recoveries.

***REMEMBER WE DO NOT HAVE WOLGA NEXT WEEK BUT WILL WRAP UP OUR SEASON ON NOVEMBER 3 WITH SOME FUN ACTIVITIES AND OF COURSE GOLF!!!

October 13 Results and GSWGA Fall Tournament

Twenty-two ladies played on Seminole today. Even with the chilly
9 AM start, it turned out to be a magnificent day. The game was Odd/Even...pick the best 9 and use half your handicap.
Winners:
1st-Jade Kim- 33.5
2nd-Lanelle Heminger-33.5 (Jade won 1st by regression)
3rd-Susan Gillespie-34

SuOk Swafford had the only birdie today and there were no chip ins, which leaves a big pot for next week!

Diane Tschantz won the 50/50.
Next week is our second to last play day and it will be Low Gross/Low Net (guest day). Remember we will NOT be having a play day the last Thursday of October but instead we will play on November 3rd at White Oak. (There is a private function at the club on October 27.)

WOLGA LADIES AT GSWGA 2016 - AUGUSTA

Several ladies from our group and the Canongate group participated in the 2016 GSWGA Fall Team Championship held in Augusta. We do not have the complete list of those places but have a few pictures to share. Several of our ladies won $150, the equivalent of their entry fee in the 50/50 raffle.

October 6th, Beat the Champ

Thirty seven ladies played "Beat the Champ" today on Seminole. Our champ, Susan Clonts, shot a net 74 but 16 ladies were able to better her score. Thank you Susan for all your graciousness.

Due to Mike Cannon's tournament next week we are playing at 9 AM next week, October 13. Check in is at 8:30 SHARP! We will play the best odd/even holes.

Good luck to all our Wolga ladies who are participating in the Georgia Senior Women's Golf League Team Championship to be held in Augusta. They will be playing two courses, West Lake Country Club and Jones Creek Golf Club.
Unfortunately Augusta National was not on the list...

Wolga Championship 2016

This season we've seen it all. A playoff in the Handicap Tournament between Lanelle and Jennifer Pierson. Today we had the playoff to beat all playoffs between Ellen Connors and Susan Clonts. If you could not be present to witness it, you missed a good one! Susan and Ellen tied after regulation and went into a playoff on the hardest handicap hole on Old Course, #9. There were monster drives, scrappy play from the rough and bunkers, and treacherous putting opportunities. It took 5 extra playoff holes by two competitors with nerves of steel until we had a winner. Susan squeaked by to defend her title. Great play and great competition!
