April 3-Low Gross/Low Net

We will be playing on Seminole again on April 3rd, but hopefully the greens will be in better shape since the aerification.  We will award the two top low gross and two  top low net.

Now for a little golf housekeeping:
  • Double check your scorecards before turning them in.  There were only a few errors on this week's cards. Please remember to sign them as directed before you turn them in as if it were a tournament.  (good practice for tournaments)
  • Remember to circle birdies/chip ins on those sheets and make sure you put scores, adj. scores, birdies/chip ins in the proper column.  This allows us to cross check your stats before we record them in the stats (Beth does this) and ringers (Linda does this)
  • New members, please feel free to ask any of us if you don't understand, there's alot to remember.
  • Ladies, in keeping with the integrity of the game of golf, please record the rounds you play into the GHIN system.  This will give Wolga and you a true picture of your ability. We post your Wolga playday scores but it is up to you to record any other round you play even if it is only 9 holes.

The following week, April 10, we will have our own optional side bets called "Pick a Pro".
Lisa Jones will be taking $3.00 per pro bets on who you think might win on Sunday.  You may pick as many pros you want ($3.00 each)  Winners will be determined on your net score combined with your pros Sunday score.  Last year's winner was Lanelle Heminger.

One more thing....
There are two big tournaments coming up that you might want to be a part of.  Those are:
  • Georgia Women's Golf Association Four Ball Tournament (Two lady teams)- April 29-30 (Deadline for registering is April 8th) Must have index of 23.2 or less.
  • Georgia Senior Women's Golf Association-May 20-21 (Entry forms are now available on line)Must have an index no higher than 26.1.

Par 3 Scramble

We had good weather and very good attendance which broke our last year's  record with 45 ladies.
Fifteen teams played holes as short as 40 yards and as far as 149 yards.  It was a great opportunity to work on our approach shots.
Dottie Steward won a big 50/50 purse of over $30.00.  We will be having our buy 3 for $2.00 again next week.

Here are the results:

1st Place- Team of VanGelder/Miller/Shepard with -2
2nd Place-There were three teams tied with -1, but tie was broken and the team of Rezba/Young/Head placed 2nd
3rd Place-  Team of Clonts/Cox/Uher

Thanks to Sean Renaud for all your help setting up the course and making our score sheets.  It was fun having you play #9 with all the ladies.

Here are some photos from today:

Remember to see Janis Turner to sign up for the Ringer Tournament which is April 17.  Cost is $10.00
You will get another reminder mid week but don't forget to wear your team colors, jersey's, hats, visors, etc. of your favorite teams in conjunction with March Madness.  (It doesn't have to be fav college basketball team.  You can have your fav baseball, fav sports team in general.)  You can mix it up if you have more than one.)
