White Oak Ladies Birdie Club

Our golf league is beginning a new club and everyone can join!  Instead of receiving a birdie pin at the end of the season you will receive a cute 'birdie towel'.  All you have to do to join is get a birdie during a Thursday organized Wolga play day.
Who is going to be the first member of the club?  We will soon see.  (They are too cute to get dirty though)
Ladies, please know your index prior to signing up for the morning play.  It will save lots of  time.  See you tomorrow with your windbreakers as it's supposed to be mighty breezy tomorrow.

Pre St. Patrick's Day!!

Leprechaun Playing Golf - Royalty Free Clipart Picture

Even though it's not quite here,
Have no fear,
I thought it might be keen,
To wear a little green.

There won't be a pot of gold at the end of the  rainbow, but maybe a little treat after your round.

Don't forget, we are on Seminole this week.  Check in at
9:30 SHARP and shotgun at 10:00am.
(This is different from what the handbook says.)
Check in first in the clubhouse.  Just look for Beth McShepard and Linda O'Brown
You may get a cart to load your clubs as we do not have anyone picking up clubs from your car. Of course, walking is allowed.
For the newbies, we draw a tile to see who you will be playing with for the day.

Opening Day Breakfast and Business Meeting

What a large crowd we  had on hand for our opening day of the White Oak Ladies Golf Association season.  The restaurant staff treated us to a delicious breakfast including the largest biscuits this side of the Mississippi.
Fifty eight ladies were on hand but with the wind and cold temperatures and possibility of rain, no one played golf today.  We will postpone the fun Par 3 until March 20, our scheduled guest day.  We will be on Old Course again. We want to welcome the following new members and some coming back from previous years:
Nancy Burdette
Jennifer Dunn
Lynda Young
Kathy Mallon
Nancy Leo
Madeline Rezba

Next week we will be on Seminole and the format will be best front or back 9.

It was too cold for golf but not too cold for Mahjong and card games.

Opening Day, March 6th

We are so looking forward to our breakfast and opening day Par 3 specially designed by Pro Sean Renaud.  However, the forecast at this time calls for 60% chance of rain.  That means there is a 40% chance it won't rain.  With that in mind, have your rain gear on hand just in case.
A reminder from our president, Margaret Lauer:
About 60 of you have responded that you will be at the breakfast.  That's terrific! The restaurant staff is preparing for that number so please plan to attend no matter what Mother Nature brings.  It'll be great to see everyone and visit.  See you at 8:00am.
(If the weather does not hold up and we get rained out, we will try to do the fun Par 3 the next week.)

Happy Valentine's Day

First of all, Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Thursday, March 6th, is our opening day for the White Oak Ladies Golf Association.  We will start off with a breakfast and meeting then Sean Renaud, our pro, will divide us into scramble teams to play a fun 18 hole "Par 3" contest.  We will be teeing off from very unique spots on each hole.  This should be very interesting...
Breakfast will be at 8:00am and the cost will be $8.00.  This will include eggs, bacon, grits and biscuits.

See you all on the 6th of March!!!
