Congratulations to Sandi Kirkpatrick for placing 2nd overall in the Catfight at Callaway Gardens.  She had +1.

Rainy July

What a rainy July it's been! 

We had 11 ladies play  Best Nine today and a little rain along the way. 

Here are the results:
                          1st place- Charlotte Myczkowski with a 33

2nd place- Janis Turner with a 33.5

Next week is Guest Day with a Best Ball format.  No course assignment has been given.  (Ladies, remember the course superintendent and his staff are doing the best they can to get the courses playable.  We can't help Mother Nature.)

Change in the Playday Schedule

First of all Happy 4th of July!!!




This is a reminder that we are playing BEST NINE on July 11th. In the book it has Interclub. That was cancelled so we changed it to Best Nine. We will be on Old Course again.



Also, the next week, July 18th, is our 3rd Guest Day. Be thinking about who you'd like to have come play with us. We will be on Seminole.

Wolga Playday Fun Facts

We are halfway through our season and here are some interesting statistics. 

• Since we began in March of 2013, we have had 402 ladies participate on our Thursday playdays. 
• This averages out to 21.8 ladies per week. 
• We have had 2 Guest Days with a total of 8 guests. (one of which joined our group)
• The fewest that have played in a week is 6 while the most we've had in a week is 39 golfers.
• Since we began our season 15 weeks ago, we have had one rainout. 
• We have had one "Hole In One". 
• There have been 63 birdies made.
• There have been 34 chip ins.
• Including "Beat the Pro" and partner formats we have had 21 different 1st Place winners. 
• We have one member who has perfect attendance.  Congrats Shirley Hasty

It's been a great 4 months... looking forward to the next 4.

Pro Picks Nine

*** Yes, we had another tie for 2nd.  Joan broke the tie with her par on the 2nd hardest hole on the course #18.  That means Sarah placed 3rd.  Way to go ladies!!!

Ladies is so fun to see all these birdies!!!  Wow!!!

Remember no play day on the 4th of July and the format for July 11th will be "Best Nine" on Seminole. 

It was good to hear that Bob Pierson, Jennifer's husband, is doing very well after having some repair work on his aortic valve.  He will be spending a few days in the hospital and Jennifer is soooo relieved the surgery is over. 


  
       

Pro Picks Nine- June 27

This week our pro, Sean Renaud, will be picking the  nine.  We will play our regular round and when we come in from playing we will find out which 9 holes we will count.  Then we will subtract 1/2 our course handicap to get our game score. 

We will play Old Course again and the greens are looking better every day. 

***Just a reminder, we are NOT playing the next Thursday as it is the Fourth of July so enjoy our day of Independence with your family.
